We are a recently established organisation looking to make an immediate impact within the building industry. We are based in the Western Sydney area servicing all of Sydney specialising in Commercial Construction, Commercial Fit outs, Commercial Make-Goods and Major Infrastructure Temporary Works. Although being a recently established organisation, its owner/director has 15 years’ experience owning a construction company and over 20 years’ experience within the building industry.

The role

We are looking for a 3rd or 4th year carpenter to join our team on a fulltime basis. The role is predominately Monday to Friday; however, optional overtime and Saturdays are available. This role requires day to day travel to various building sites. We are looking for someone who is ready to use their experience and take the next step in their career. This role is not for faint hearted. We require someone who has a hands-on attitude and is ready to take charge to ensure the job gets done to the high standard and in a timely manner. Should the successful applicant prove their abilities and commitment, we have various incentives to assist you to achieve your career goals and ensure your longevity at the organisation. You will also be partner with our leading hand carpenter to ensure you get appropriate mentoring and training.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interpreting floor plans
  • Assisting the site supervisor with daily operations
  • Framework and installations
  • Assisting and installing residential fit outs
  • Use of hand and power tools
  • Work with the compliance manager regarding WHS items (PPE, First Aid registers, etc)
  • Weekly stock/tool auditing

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Attention to detail and the ability to work within timelines.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Manual Drivers licence (preferred)
  • Vehicle preferred.
  • Self-motivated with excellent work ethic
  • Have your own tools (preferred)
  • White card
  • Professional presentation when dealing with clients when installing.
